Tammo Siemers has secured 2 AA rosettes for Kilcamb Lodge after a recent AA inspection on 31st March 2009.
Having joined Kilcamb Lodge in September 2008, Tammo quickly set to work on building his brigade in the kitchen.
He now has a strong and dedicated team to assist him and the kitchen at Kilcamb and continues to delight diners with his imaginative and exciting dishes.
Tammo is German by birth but has made Scotland his home. He has bought with him some stunning menu ideas and inspirational presentation featuring intricate detail, combined with flavour and seasonality. His love of fine food has mainly come from his apprenticeship under Thomas Kammeier at his Michelin starred restaurant “Hugos” in Berlin where Tammo spent his formative time as a young chef and where his passion for cooking really began.
Tammo has a great personality – he runs his kitchen with great precision and although he is a hard task master with his staff, demanding perfection on the plate and great attention to detail, he nevertheless has a great sense of humour and is proving to be quite a character!
The Kilcamb kitchen has been transformed under Tammo’s management and the comments from guests endorse that his food is something very special indeed. We are delighted to have him here as our Head Chef and we wish him many happy years at the helm!!

on Kilcamb Lodge and Tammo’s food.
“I have come to Kilcamb with the wish to make my mark as a chef in Scotland. I love the country and the rural life and the opportunity that Kilcamb has afforded me is wonderful.
The small and intimate dining room here allows me to exercise and develop my passion for the particular style of food I love to prepare. I have already re-designed many dishes incorporating more complexity and detail in their flavours and presentation and we have exciting plans for an additional tasting menu of several courses which we will introduce in February 2009. After which my next big task is the fresh herb garden which I plan to plant out in the Spring and I also want to expand the menu to feature more of the wonderful shellfish we have here - literally at the bottom of the garden!!”
