New Head Chef for Kilcamb Lodge Hotel
We are delighted to introduce our new Head Chef Mr Mark Greenaway.
Mark joined Kilcamb in June 2007. He is originally from Glasgow where he lived until he was 10 years old. The call of the kitchen came at an early age and he attended Motherwell College and Glasgow Chef’s School gaining top marks for his skills and abilities. At a relatively young age, he developed a skill for pastry work and at only 21 years old won the "American Express Plated Restaurant Dessert of the Year Award".
After working his way through the kitchen ranks in Scotland at the Glasgow Hilton, Auchterarder House and the Taycreggan Hotel, Mark took flight to Australia and successfully achieved Head Chef status at some of Sydney's most famous and stylish restaurants including Minc and the Grand National Restaurant, where he obtained 1 Chef's Hat, the equivalent of a Michelin Star.
On his return to Scotland, Mark became Head Chef of the extremely popular 'Room' restaurant at 1 Devonshire Gardens in Glasgow, where he obtained many accolades for his unique twist on traditional British cuisine. Gaining 9/10 on a restaurant review by the Herald's Joanna Blythman and an entry into the Michelin Guide for his efforts.
Since he joined us at Kilcamb Lodge Hotel in June last year, Mark very soon had his AA Rosette inspectio. He was not only successful in retaining our 2 rosettes but was delighted to be told that he has been recommended for a third rosette in 2008. Mark’s creativity and flair always delights diners at our loch side restaurant. He is passionate about food and this converts to the plate in terms of wonderful flavours and inventive culinary skills.
He offers our diners not only a real taste of Scotland but also a NEW taste of Scotland, the quality of which is continually being endorsed by guests who return time and again to sample his cuisine.

This year has seen our kitchen retain its silver award from Eat Scotland for a second successive year. As well as most “Romantic Restaurant” 2007 with Eat Scotland.
We continue to strive for Mark’s 3 AA Rosette this year, for which he has been nominated during our last AA inspection. – watch this space…

“My intention is to enhance that something special that Kilcamb Lodge offers its guests by adding a more modern approach to the flavours and presentation of the menu. This, coupled with the already established reputation which Kilcamb Lodge enjoys, should see us becoming one of the top dining experiences in the Highlands."
