Ardnamurchan - the best kept secret in Scotland
Ardnamurchan is one of the hidden delights of the Scottish Highlands. It is a large finger of land which protrudes into the Atlantic Ocean just north of Oban and South of Ft William. A short 2 minute ferry crossing (Corran to Ardgour) will transport you to a different world of unsurpassed hidden highland beauty, hard to beat anywhere in Scotland. It is also the gateway to all the small Inner Hebridean Islands including Mull, Iona, Muck, Egg, Rum, Coll and Tiree. But to ignore this staggeringly beautiful part of the west coast is to miss a truly magical experience. Fresh seafood in abundance, excellent walking and bird watching, extraordinary wildlife - seals, eagles, dolphins, whales, otters, pine martens, wildcats red squirrels and magnificent red deer can all be seen here.
A walk or drive through Ardnamurchan would reveal some magnificent seascapes, wonderful mountain climbs, deserted white sandy beaches which would rival the best the Caribbean can offer.
In short - Ardnamurchan beguiles all who visit here but beware, once sampled, you just have to return - one visit is never enough…
