Rich and complex notes of dark cherries, ripe red fruits, plums, spices, almonds and a lengthy mineral finish.

A luscious and powerful wine with ripe plum, damson and black cherry fruit flavours that are wonderfully balanced with sweet spice notes, liquorice, mocha and coffee. The wine is aged in oak barrel for eight months and then aged in bottle for a further eight months before release.

Wine with bright strawberry and cherry fruit flavours. It has the depth of fruit that you would expect from a New World wine but a lightness and elegance more associated with Burgundian Pinot Noir. A delicious, fresh wine that is fantastic with lamb, game or perfect for idle sipping.

It is a smooth and elegant wine, with the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc giving the wine great structure. It finishes with lovely spice notes and a bit of Turkish delight.

Ripe dark fruits dominate the nose with juicy plum fruits and mocha enhanced by the French and American oak. This wine really demonstrates the unique flavours of Shiraz. A sweet spice mid palate, soft tannins and warmth of character have created a wine with both power and finesse.

Delicious, fruit driven blend of Petit Verdot and Syrah which is an absolute delight with beef. A wine packed with Morello cherry along with darker plum and damson fruit flavours. The years aging in oak brings flashy oak notes of chocolate and burnt toffee which balance perfectly with the fruit to deliver an intense and full bodied wine which is warm, generous yet super fresh.

Cabernet Sauvignon blend. It is a rich wine with mulberry, black cherry, plums and lovely chocolate notes. There are lovely spice notes on the palate, which is dense, textured and a rather juicy on the finish.

37 Bodegas La Purisima, 'Old Hands' Roble Monastrell 2019 | Yecla, Spain ~ Btl £40.50

This Mourvedre is kept in oak barrels for four months. The oak imparts flavours that go perfectly with slightly spicy notes of the Monastrell variety. Aromas of dried figs, chocolate and mocha jump out on the nose along with some aromatic herbs, which naturally grow in the sunny hills that surround the organic vineyards of La Purisima.

38 Malbec, Cahors 'L'Envol du Prince' Domaine du Prince 2019 | Cahors, France~ Btl £53.50

Fresh, super fruity Malbec from the almost forgotten region of Cahors in South West France. The wine is silky smooth with red and black currant fruit, damson and chocolate notes. The wine is aged in concrete vats for one year which brings freshness to the wine. It has all the wonderful Malbec aromas but without the oak flavours. Really special wine.

39 Meritxell Palleja 'Nita' Priorat 2019 | Priorat, Spain ~ Btl £65.50

The wine is a blend of 45% Grenache, 35% Carignan, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah which is fermented in a combination of stainless steel and cement tanks. It has gorgeous dark red fruit flavours, bramble fruit and beautiful spice notes. It is fresh on the finish. 

40 Cabernet-Merlot Rubicon Blend, 2017 | Stellenbosch, South Africa ~ Btl £125.50

Rubicon, Meerlust, Stellenbosch, South Africa Powerful blackcurrant, cigar box, smoked meat on the nose with intense dark fruit juiciness on the palate. Tannins are structured but there is plenty of fruit density as well. Excellent!

41 Brunello di Montalcino, 'Filo di Seta' Castello Romitorio 2017 | Tuscany, Italy ~ Btl £175.50

The Sangiovese grapes are sourced from cooler Northwest facing vineyards located at 350 meters altitude. This is a distinctive microclimate in a hot area. The result is a Brunello with all the power and structure but with an exceptional lightness and freshness that makes it fascinating. Dried cherry, floral notes, dark peony, earth, savoury notes and perfumed edges. It is a wine you could smell all day and is almost electric on the palate but finishes with lovely silky charm and elegance. World class wine.

Intense, rich, fruity nose crammed with pure blackberry, cassis, cherry and plum aromas interwoven with notes of spice. The juicy black fruit flavours linger into the rich, luscious finish.

A deliciously crisp, fresh style with intense fruit. It has acquired the classical attributes of an old tawny port while at the same time retaining much of the freshness and fruit of its youth.

52 Maury Rouge, Domaine Fontanel 2018 | Maury, France ~ 75ml £9.50

Lightly fortified to only 16%, this deep red wine with macerated fruits, cocoa and roasting flavours is exclusively made from black Grenache Noir. It distinguishes itself as a perfect match for chocolate lovers because of the delicious black cherry, mashed sweet strawberry and cassis. Mouth-watering and surprisingly fresh.
